Traveling in a car with the kids for long distances can be really stressful. However, if you’ve planned everything carefully, your can make it a fun filled journey without any hassles for both your kids and yourself.

1. Keep a DVD player and few favorite movies for the journey. If there is a DVD player built in the vehicle, then it is great. Aside from this, also stock in all their favorite CD’s. Kids will love it.
2. Stock sufficient quantities of snacks. While traveling it is great to have plenty of snacks. Though, you can stop by anywhere on the road, but it is better to start with them from your home.
3. Keep cooler filler with the cold drinks, juice, water and lots of ice.
4. Bring in their favorite blanket and some stuffed animals that can help them in remembering home as this will make them comfortable.
5. Pack some sound books as they will love to read them.
6. You should bring in interesting games to keep the kids occupied. You can also pack few goody bags for the children that can be opened at the destination. This will keep them excited.
7. Just visit some Dollar Store and purchase few dollar toys. These toys will keep them occupied and will also divert their attention from the car.
