)Isolation. Withdrawing from family and friends is a huge sign that your son or daughter may be struggling. Teens need and thrive on relationships so when they begin to isolate – pay attention.
)Dropping Grades. If your student’s grade begin to drop below normal, it should add to your concern that he or she is dealing with something greater than the average day to day stress.
)Lack of Motivation. Most teens are not big go-getters when it comes to chores and homework but when they lack motivation in areas where they normally are motivated to do well, whether it be sports or earning money, this could be a hint that something is amiss.
)Irregular Sleep. Teens who are having difficult time often have irregular sleep habits. It is important to encourage a good night’s sleep and heed those nighttime footsteps as a warning sign.
)Lying. Young people who are in trouble may begin lying in their daily lives and become secretive about what they are doing. If your teen is found to be consistently untruthful or hiding his activities, see it as a red flag that your teen could be in trouble.
